Recently, CATL officially joined the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC). As a global leader in new energy innovative technologies, CATL has always adhered to sustainable development principles. Leveraging its strengths in technology and business model innovations, green extreme manufacturing, and its entire-value-chain operation, CATL is dedicated to promoting the global energy transition and green development.

Established in 2000, UNGC is the world’s largest organization for promoting corporate sustainability and the first proponent of the ESG concept. CATL’s membership in UNGC signifies the international organization’s recognition of its sustainable development practices in areas such as corporate governance, environmental protection, and talent development. It is also a significant step for CATL to enhance its international influence in the field of sustainability.

At the same time, CATL was included in the first issue of the Sustainability Yearbook (China Edition) 2023 by the renowned rating agency Standard & Poor’s Global (“S&P Global”) for its exceptional performance in the field of sustainability. The Yearbook identifies the top 15% companies in each industry based on S&P Global’s ESG scores and recognizes them to varying degrees.

With a Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) score of 51 points in 2022 (ranking the top 6% globally), CATL stood out from 1,590 Chinese companies and became one of the 88 companies selected into the Yearbook.
