Changan Automobile, Huawei and CATL Jointly Launch the All New Smart Electric Vehicle Architecture CHN

On June 25, AVATR Technology, a high-end smart electric vehicle brand co-created by Changan Automobile, Huawei and CATL, launched CHN – the All New Smart Electric Vehicle Architecture and its first model AVATR 11 at the 24th Chongqing International Auto Show. Huarong Zhu, chairman of Changan Automobile, Zhijun Xu, rotating chairman of Huawei and Robin Zeng, chairman of CATL, attended the launch event.

Supported by the integration of Changan Automobile, Huawei and CATL's respective advantages in complete vehicle R&D and intelligent manufacturing, intelligent vehicle solutions and smart energy ecosystem, AVATR has developed the leading All New Smart Electric Vehicle Architecture CHN. Products based on the CHN technology platform feature high integration, high extension, high performance, long range, high safety, strong computing capacity, high intelligence and strong evolvability. In the future, the CHN technology platform will support the development of models including sedans, SUVs, MPVs and crossovers with a wheelbase up to 3,100 mm. Both two-wheel drive and four-wheel drive are supported. 

CATL will focus on areas including batteries, motor drive, electronic control, energy management and charging station network regarding the CHN technology platform, and will support AVATR with cutting-edge technologies and top resources. 

“The combination of the first Chinese Pinyin letters of the names of the three companies, namely Changan Automobile, Huawei and CATL, happen to be "CHN," which is also the country code of China. We will leverage the strengths of the three companies to build AVATR into an international brand,” said Huarong Zhu, Chairman of Changan Automobile. 

“AVATR and Huawei have established a comprehensive strategic partnership. Supported by the leading full-stack smart car solutions, Huawei and the AVATR team will jointly build AVATR 11 to bring users an extremely smart driving experience,” said Zhijun Xu, rotating chairman of Huawei.

Robin Zeng, chairman of CATL, said, “CATL has equipped AVATR 11 with industry-leading technologies including fast charging, cell to pack (CTP) and no thermal propagation (NP), integrating high performance, long range and substantial safety into AVATR11. I believe this car will be very competitive in the market. For all AVATR models, CATL will provide the latest and the greatest batteries to build AVATR into a premier smart electric vehicle brand in China and even the world.”

The AVATR 11 is equipped with CATL's CTP ternary lithium-ion battery packs, which provide two ranges of 680km and 555km (based on CLTC). With the 750V high-voltage charging platform, it is able to deliver 200km of driving distance within a 10-minute charge. 

Mr. Benhong Tan, chairman and CEO of AVATR Technology, announced that AVATR 11, the first product of the CHN technology platform, and the limited edition model AVATR 011, would be officially launched on August 8th, and the first batch of cars will be delivered this year.
